Supporting young musicians around the world

The Antigua & Barbuda Youth Symphony Orchestra is a registered, non-profit youth programme committed to inspiring excellence through music. Since its launch in 2018, the ABYSO has set itself ambitious targets to promote musical diversity at the highest level of artistic excellence in Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Caribbean. This is a journey that continues with the support of the Kanneh-Mason family, including cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, the first musician of colour to win the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition. In 2019, we began a partnership with the ABYSO to support a programme of individual and group tuition for orchestral members by specialist music tutors.

In this film we meet Litsa Tunnah, violinist and tutor at ABYSO, who tells us more about the programme and the impact it has on young musicians in Antigua and Barbuda.
